Denise Richards looks forward to appearing on Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’
posted on April 22nd, 2012Denise Richards has agreed to appear on “Anger Management”, her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen’s show.
The FX show is slated to debut on June 28 this year. It was recently announced that it would guest star Denise Richard, who would be playing Lori, the new business partner of Sheen’s onscreen ex played by Shawnee Smith, according to a report on On the Red Carpet. The report says that Richards might be cast more frequently in the show.
Sheen’s character is of an ex-professional baseball player who has become an anger management therapist after dealing with his own anger issues that led to the end of his baseball career. “He’s an ex-ball player who had anger issues whose career ended because of an incident. And he’s a guy that just wants to give something back,” Sheen told NBC, according to the same report.
While the show is based on a 2003 movie of the same name, so far rumors have said that it is likely to opt for a different direction. Selma Blair plays Sheen’s love interest and a fellow anger therapist, while Charlie’s real life dad will be cast as his dad on the show as well.
Denise Richards had been frequently asked by Sheen to play various roles in his projects, even after the couple had divorced in 2006. Only last year, the former “Two and a Half Men” actor offered her a role in the comedy to portray his ex-girlfriend at a funeral scene while promising to pay her $100,000, but she declined. This time, however, the frequent Twitter user is looking forward to her new role.
“Finished the table reading for #Anger Management,” Richards tweeted on Friday, April 13. “Funny episode! Really excited to be part of the show…”
While the couple divorced after Richards filed a restraining order against Sheen, the two appear to be going pretty well together, and frequently take time out for family reunions. While Sheen and Richards were married, they became parents of two daughters, Sam and Lola.
Richards is currently gearing up for her upcoming movie, “Blue Lagoon” remake, in which she plays the mom of Indiana Evans, a high school teen, lost in a deserted island with no one but her male classmate to help her out.
