‘Blue Mountain’ hits a peak of depravity with Denise Richards
Wednesday, October 20th, 2010Blue Mountain State, one of basic cable’s raunchiest comedies, returns to guy-centric Spike tonight, and the second season could prove to be even spicier with Denise Richards on board.
Set on the college campus of a fictional perennial football powerhouse, Blue Mountain State (11 ET/PT) centers on the Animal House-like antics of quarterback Alex Moran (Darin Brooks), a second stringer but an all-American party animal.
He’ll tangle with Richards’ character beginning with next week’s episode. It’s part of her five-show arc as Debra, the sex-crazed ex-wife of Moran’s high-strung coach, Marty Daniels (former Minnesota Vikings running back Ed Marinaro).
“It’s a fun, over-the-top show. I enjoyed pushing the envelope, being a little inappropriate,” says Richards, 39. BMS is her return to scripted TV after reality stints on E! channel’s Denise Richards: It’s Complicated and ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. “I love reality, but I love acting, and it’s nice to get back into it,” she says. “Hopefully, I can do more.”
